When I try to liquidate I get this error:
Could not liquidate
One or more positions could not be liquidated.
And if I try to manually create the order, I get this error:
Failed to submit order
insufficient qty available for order (requested: X, available: 0)
This error appears when you are trying to sell more shares than you have (I am assuming you have long position in AAL). When placing an order, the system looks at the currently held quantity plus any outstanding orders. The new order cannot be for more than what is held minus any potentially sold with existing orders.
A good practice is to close all existing orders for a position before placing an order to liquidate.

Yes, thank you Sir (I had an open sell order already). I canceled that order and was able lo liquidate.
