'ALPACA API ERROR: insufficient non-marginable buying power'

Hello lads and girls,

Can someone explain me why the following two orders dont go through:

  • 64.5 BCHUSD @ 710 = 42600 USD

  • 311.15 LTC USD @ 287 = 89257 USD

On an account with over 1 million in cash without open orders!

Current error: ’ ALPACA API ERROR: insufficient non-marginable buying power ’

@Burntt, I got the same seemingly unjustified error message in my paper account.

I signed up for a new paper account and I’m not having any issues in that account

(my old paper account was created before Alpaca started supporting crypto – not sure whether that has anything to do with it)

Same here, I think I created my paper account before Alpaca introduced Crypto as well. I reset my paper trading account like @Xavier_Robitaille suggested and it started working again. Here is information on how to reset your paper trading account
