I have a PDT restriction on my account (I know what caused it and have read up on all the requirements). My question is when does it get resolved so that I can start liquidating positions?
@iqbal The restriction is you cannot place more than 3 day trades in a rolling 5 day window.
There isn’t any overall restriction on your account. You can buy and sell whatever you wish as long as you do not day trade the same symbol in the same day. If there is a specific symbol you bought then want to sell, you will need to wait until the following day to sell (so it won’t be a day trade). You can sell anything you didn’t open today (that won’t be a day trade). If you do want to day trade you will need to look back to the previous 5 days of trades (including the current day). When that drops below 3 you can day trade.
