Price inaccuracies

Anyone else getting highly inaccurate data on prices from Alpaca?

Yeah, they’re flashing between the actual market prices vs some absurdly lower price. Sent support an email about it

Yes, I’m seeing wild price fluctuations. Not good. I have not idea if I’m up 30% or broke.

I would venture to say this has something to do with their new data API.

Probably a good bet to say it’s their new data api. I know some users that have system wide stop triggers when their account value drops a certain % so I hope they aren’t effected by this (Hello lawsuit)

That was my thought as well. I couldn’t imagine the anger of hitting a stop loss because of a bug.

The new API rollout felt rushed. I write software for a living and rushing a product out never ends well. You can’t release a product in beta when you are dealing with people’s life savings LOL.

Don’t place any market orders today

+1. I just experienced a random price variation on a sell order (sell price ended up being $3.00 below current stock value for no apparent reason). Fortunately it was in my paper account but I am stopping trading for now.

The software is currently unusable. You would think they would have a development server, but it seems that everything just gets pushed straight to production to test. It’s super fucking annoying.

You’re exactly right, I lost a quick $100 on all my market sales triggered this morning.

sounds like your doing something wrong or a lot

Lost over $14,000 because of this issue today. Still waiting to hear back from support…

At the expense of unsuspecting users of their platform. Looks like a class action.
