I wanted to sell with a trailing stop and good till canceled, but I cant. I get the message: Order failed. New orders are rejected by user request.
What is this? Why cant I set a trailing stop order? What is going wrong?
Please explain what to do so I can sell.
I am no expert, but it would be great if you could paste more details. What is exact exception you are finding, when exactly do you see this error? One of us might be able to help.
Thanks
This is the text I receive when I want to confirm my sell.
When I want to sell I get this message. So I cannot sell. More details I don t have.
Sorry, I could not help you here. Are you still facing this issue? Someone from Alpaca team might be able to help you with this.
@C_Schreuder Are you still having the issue “I wanted to sell with a trailing stop and good till canceled, but I cant.”? If you have the shares to sell then you can submit this order. You stated the error is “New orders are rejected by user request”. There isn’t an Alpaca error with that exact wording.
If you include the order you were trying to place (eg sell 10 shares of SPY with a trailing stop of 1%) and the approximate time you placed the order, I may be able to find something in the logs with more detail to help you troubleshoot.
Hallo, ik kan nog steeds niet verkopen, op geen enkele manier.
Alpaca geeft me die foutmelding, die verzin ik niet zelf.
Help me aub zodat ik kan verkopen op welke manier dan ook

@C_Schreuder What is the account number. I may be able to check the logs to see what may be going on. It’s a long shot, but check your account configuration. Did trading somehow get turned off?
It might also depend on the time of day your order was submitted, because I don’t think trailing stops orders are accepted during premarket or aftermarket hours (ET).
HI,
my accountnumber at Alpaca is 747738319.
I’ve tried several kind of sells, not only trailing stops. Nothing works, I cannot sell

YESSSSS!! I can sell! the ‘trades suspended’ was switched on. So thank you for sending me the example in your last mail.
Gratefull!!

@C_Schreuder Glad to hear! That ‘switch’ is sort of a kill switch in the case of a runaway algo. I often forget it’s there.
