My (crypto) trading graph always looks like this. Note the spike upward at the very end. This shape persists even though new segments of the line are added with time.

Another clue as to what is going on:
When I liquidated everything, it seemed to return the graph to the position indicated by the upward spike. So the graph seems to be using something other than the liquidation value of the portfolio at all times except the current (most recent) time.
