Why is the quantity size changing after entering into a position?

I entered DOGE with 10,000 quantity, but after entering the Qty changed to 9,984. I have seen this happen with another stock as well. Why does the qty change?

This is paper account, if that matters

Order filled with 10000 Qty

@castor-okays When you buy crypto on Alpaca, you may notice the quantity you receive is slightly less than what you ordered. This is due to the way crypto trading fees are handled on the platform. Alpaca charges a maker/taker fee on each crypto trade. This fee is deducted from the asset you receive. For example, if you place an order to buy 1 ETH, and the taker fee is 0.25%, you will actually receive 0.9975 ETH after the fee is applied. The fee is withdrawn from the “final” currency you receive in the trade, not from your cash balance or the amount you sell. This is why the filled quantity is less than the requested amount for buy orders—it’s the result of the trading fee being deducted from your purchased crypto amount.

See the docs here for more on fees.

Does that explain it?
