# Position unrealized percentage

Hi,  
The percentage gain / loss for the positions api doesn’t take into account if the position is long or short, is that correct.

For example on a long trade the percentage ‘win’ is positive, but on a short trade, alpaca doesn’t reverse the percentage so the advantageous percentage is actually negative, is this correct?
